We’re grateful to showcase this poster presentation on the Tewkesbury Voices website, based on research presented to us by second-year students from the University of Gloucestershire.

Their work explores the experiences of Black American servicemen in Britain during the Second World War, including segregation within the US military, relationships with local communities, military justice, and interracial relationships. It also examines how these wider histories were experienced in Gloucestershire, including Tewkesbury.
